Lacrosse drops home non-conference game against Randolph-Macon

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith lacrosse program dropped a home non-conference game 14-10 to Randolph-Macon College Saturday afternoon at the Meredith Track & Field Complex. 

Meredith (4-3) saw Randolph-Macon (4-4) score first but rattled off back-to-back goals from freshman Reese Walker and sophomore Lauyrn Turner. The teams traded goals and headed into the second quarter of play. 

Turner finished with four goals, two ground balls, and two draw controls while Walker finished with three goals. 

The Yellow Jackets created their advantage in the second and third quarters, outscoring the Angels 7-2. 

Senior Tori Witmer, junior Jessica Dowdy, and freshman Brooke Blades also scored for Meredith. Senior Meredith Sinkler tallied two caused turnovers and one ground ball while junior Madeline Horrell earned five saves in goal. 

Meredith is back in action, Wednesday the 22nd, when they travel to Lynchburg for a 5 p.m. start.
