RALEIGH, N.C. -- Megan Rahn, '12, joined the Meredith College athletics staff in fall 2016 as a volunteer assistant basketball coach and was promoted to a full, paid assistant at the conclusion of the 2019-2020 season by Head Coach LaQuanda Quick.
"No one is more deserving of this promotion than Megan," said Quick. "She has given so much of her time to this program over the last few years as a volunteer."
Rahn ranks in the top-three all-time at Meredith in many career statistical categories and still leads the college records with 765 total rebounds, 553 defensive rebounds, and 92 games started out of 95 played.
"As a proud alumnae of Meredith, I had the great privilege of experiencing the benefits of both the Avenging Angels basketball program and the larger Meredith community during my four-year college career," said Rahn. "It's thrilling to have the opportunity to give back to a place that gave me so much. Go Angels!"
Rahn graduated in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in mass communications with a minor in studio art. She collected three All-Conference honors, two All-State accolades, and earned the team's Outstanding Performance Award on three occasions during her four-year career. Rahn capped off her career with the second highest average nationally with 24.2 points per game.
"I'm glad we are able to put [Megan]in a position where she can now contribute even more," said Quick. "Her value to the program is immeasurable. I know she will have much success in her new role."
