  • Volleyball USA South's East Second Pick in Preseason Poll
    August 17, 2017
    The reigning USA South Tournament Champion Meredith College volleyball team earned the East Division's second spot in the preseason coaches poll as announced Thursday. Under new leadership of Interim Head Coach Kenzie Aries and first-year assistant Emily Hendricks, '15, the Avenging Angels received two first-place votes in the poll behind top pick Averett University with six.
  • New Leadership for Meredith SAAC

    The Meredith College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be sponsored by two new athletics staff members beginning fall 2017 in Head Softball Coach Kim Scavone and Assistant Cross Country/Track & Field Coach Gene Meade. The two look forward to offering fresh perspective to the Avenging Angels in an effort to re-energize the NCAA-driven organization.
  • Barkley Steps Into New Role at Meredith

    Fiona Barkley capped off her 10-year tenure as the Meredith College head volleyball coach this week with back-to-back summer camps. Beginning August 1, she will step into her new role as assistant athletic director for advancement and external relations.
  • Online Access Ready for Student-Athlete Forms
    July 24, 2017
    The online portal for new and returning Meredith College student-athletes to complete or update required medical forms is now available. Additionally, new Avenging Angels should complete the student-athlete profile form and register FREE with the NCAA Eligibility Center. The schedule for required ImPact and prescreening testing should also be reviewed.
  • Edwards Assumes Leadership Role with Meredith Sports Medicine

    Meredith College Athletic Director Jackie Myers recently announced the promotion of Rebecca Edwards to interim head athletic trainer. A two-year assistant with the Avenging Angels sports medicine staff, Edwards succeeded Tammy Holleman, who left the college to pursue other opportunities.
  • Volleyball Team Earns National Academic Recognition

    The Meredith College volleyball team was one-of-four USA South programs recognized on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award list. In addition to the Avenging Angels, Covenant, N.C. Wesleyan, and Piedmont volleyball made the list.
  • Expanded USA South Footprint Leads to Adjusted Divisional Structure
    July 19, 2017
    The USA South Athletic Conference welcomed three new members this summer in Berea College, Brevard College, and Pfeiffer University. The expanded footprint resulted in an adjusted divisional format as announced from the conference office early this week.
  • Long Nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year
    July 13, 2017
    Four-year Meredith College volleyball standout Karlie Long, '17, was 1-of-544 athletes, and 1-of-198 in Division III, nominated for the prestigious 2017 NCAA Woman of the Year award. For 27 years, the NCAA Woman of the Year program has honored the academic achievements, athletics excellence, community service, and leadership of outstanding female college athletes.
