  • Meredith College Student-Athletes Donate Food to Raleigh Rescue Mission
    November 17, 2017
    Efforts from the Meredith College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will provide the Raleigh Rescue Mission with more than 1500 items of non-perishable food this holiday season. The Avenging Angels collected the items as part of the USA South SAAC's service initiative Cans Across the Conference, a competition among member schools to effect change in communities across the league's six-state footprint.
  • A Tribute to Doc Huber

    Meredith College athletics mourns the loss of longtime softball coach, Dr. Jack "Doc" Huber. A beloved psychology professor, he retired in 2011 after more than 30 years of service to Meredith College. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Oct. 12, at 6:30 p.m. in Jones Chapel.
  • Rookie Collins Wins at MU Invite

    The Meredith College tennis squad wrapped up action at the MU Invitational Sunday. Rookie Natalie Collins captured the title in the No. 6 flight with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Methodist's Audrey Greeson.

  • Emerson/Daugherty Finish Second in Flight #3 Doubles in MU Invite

    The young Meredith College tennis team opened the fall season Friday at the Methodist University Invitational. Sophomore Gillian Emerson and rookie Sierra Dougherty placed second in Flight #3 doubles to rally the Angels.
  • New Slate of SAAC Officers Readies for the Year
    August 23, 2017
    The Meredith College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) introduced a new slate of officers Wednesday. Senior lacrosse forward Carlee Joseph will lead the group as organization president. Senior volleyball setter Hannah Blaylock will serve as vice-president, and her teammate Haley Reeg, a junior middle blocker, will serve as secretary of the group.
  • New Leadership for Meredith SAAC

    The Meredith College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be sponsored by two new athletics staff members beginning fall 2017 in Head Softball Coach Kim Scavone and Assistant Cross Country/Track & Field Coach Gene Meade. The two look forward to offering fresh perspective to the Avenging Angels in an effort to re-energize the NCAA-driven organization.
  • Online Access Ready for Student-Athlete Forms
    July 24, 2017
    The online portal for new and returning Meredith College student-athletes to complete or update required medical forms is now available. Additionally, new Avenging Angels should complete the student-athlete profile form and register FREE with the NCAA Eligibility Center. The schedule for required ImPact and prescreening testing should also be reviewed.
  • Edwards Assumes Leadership Role with Meredith Sports Medicine

    Meredith College Athletic Director Jackie Myers recently announced the promotion of Rebecca Edwards to interim head athletic trainer. A two-year assistant with the Avenging Angels sports medicine staff, Edwards succeeded Tammy Holleman, who left the college to pursue other opportunities.
  • Expanded USA South Footprint Leads to Adjusted Divisional Structure

    The USA South Athletic Conference welcomed three new members this summer in Berea College, Brevard College, and Pfeiffer University. The expanded footprint resulted in an adjusted divisional format as announced from the conference office early this week.
