  • King/Wallace Earn All-State Soccer Honors

    Meredith College soccer standouts Kirstie King and Jessica Wallace earned a nod from the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association as announced Wednesday afternoon. Both junior Avenging Angels, this marked King's first selection and the second for Wallace.

  • Meredith College Student-Athletes Donate Food to Raleigh Rescue Mission

    Efforts from the Meredith College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will provide the Raleigh Rescue Mission with more than 1500 items of non-perishable food this holiday season. The Avenging Angels collected the items as part of the USA South SAAC's service initiative Cans Across the Conference, a competition among member schools to effect change in communities across the league's six-state footprint.
  • Soccer Falls Short 1-0 to Monarchs in USA South Title Match

    In Saturday night's USA South Women's Soccer Championship match, the East #2 Meredith College Angels lost a hard fought battle 1-0 in overtime to rival Methodist University. Samantha Litt, Jaisa Loch, Molly Thomas, and Jessica Wallace earned All-Tournament honors for their efforts throughout the tournament.
  • Soccer Headed to USA South Championship Match

    In Friday night's second semifinal pairing of the USA South Women's Soccer Tournament, the East #2 Meredith College Avenging Angels upset the host West #1 Maryville Scots 2-1 in overtime to advance to the championship match. Jessica Wallace scored the game winning goal with 5:23 left in the extra period.
  • Soccer to Face Maryville in USA South Semifinals

    With the final divisional playoff game now complete, Meredith College and the remaining teams will face off at Maryville College for the USA South Women's Soccer Tournament semifinals and championship rounds next week.
  • Soccer Angels Advance to League Semifinals with 1-0 Victory Over Bishops

    In Saturday's USA South Women's Soccer quarterfinal pairing between East #2 Meredith College and East #6 N.C. Wesleyan, Jessica Wallace scored the game winner in a 1-0 victory to advance the Avenging Angels. Meredith must await tomorrow's West Division quarterfinal between #1 Maryville and #4 Huntingdon.

    Seven Meredith College Avenging Angels were recognized Thursday as USA South Women's Soccer All-Conference selections. Defender Kirstie King led the group as a USA South first-team honoree for her efforts this season.

    The Meredith College soccer team captured the Co-East Division Championship Saturday evening as the program's fourth consecutive and sixth overall USA South title with a 2-1 victory over Methodist University. Senior goalie Jaisa Loch notched four saves in her 50th career win in goal for the Angels.

    The Meredith College soccer squad claimed a 2-1 victory over the visiting Pfeiffer Falcons on Senior Night Wednesday. Head Coach Paul Smith, Athletic Director Jackie Myers, and the rest of the Avenging Angels celebrated Olivia DeBellis, Samantha Litt, Jaisa Loch, and Cassie Padilla during the intermission.
  • Boudreau Leads Meredith Soccer to 1-0 Win Over Bishops

    Sophomore Kayla Boudreau scored from 15 yards out on a pass from Cassie Padilla to lead Meredith College soccer to a 1-0 victory over the visiting N.C. Wesleyan Bishops. The Avenging Angels moved into a tie with Salem for first place in the USA South's East Division with the win.
  • Elvington Shot Finishes Off Averett 2-0

    The Meredith College soccer team collected their fourth USA South victory with a 2-0 finish over the host Averett Cougars Sunday afternoon. Hannah Elvington's late goal secured the win for the Avenging Angels.
  • Soccer Angels Earn 1-0 Road Win Over Ferrum

    The Meredith College soccer Angels captured their third USA South victory with a 1-0 finish at Ferrum Friday afternoon. Rookie Katie Quinn scored her third career goal to lead the Avenging Angels to the win.

  • A Tribute to Doc Huber

    Meredith College athletics mourns the loss of longtime softball coach, Dr. Jack "Doc" Huber. A beloved psychology professor, he retired in 2011 after more than 30 years of service to Meredith College. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Oct. 12, at 6:30 p.m. in Jones Chapel.

  • Soccer Caps Off Weekend DH with 5-0 Win Over LaGrange

    The Meredith College soccer Angels wrapped up a weekend doubleheader with a 5-0 victory over the visiting LaGrange Panthers. Next up, the Angels will host Johnson-Wales Tuesday night at 6 p.m. on their home turf, a change from the original schedule.

    The host Washington & Lee Generals handed Meredith College soccer a 4-0 loss in Wednesday afternoon's non-conference pairing. After an 80 minute lightning delay, the teams finally kicked off at 5:40 p.m. at Watt Field.

    The Meredith College soccer Angels fell short in a 3-1 loss at Virginia Wesleyan Saturday afternoon. Jessica Wallace scored her first goal on the season in the 24th minute of the match unassisted.

    In Sunday's second day of the Meredith College Esprit DIII Soccer Classic, Emory handled the Avenging Angels for a 3-0 victory. Meredith launched three attempts at the net but otherwise remained consistently on the defensive end of play.
  • Cooke's First Career Goal Gives Soccer 1-0 Win Over Falcons

    Meredith College soccer freshman Erin Cooke scored today's lone goal to give the Angels a victory over Pfeiffer University in the Esprit DIII National Classic. The win marks Meredith's third consecutive to open the season.
  • Loch Named League Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

    Senior goal keeper Jaisa Loch earned USA South Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after recording a pair of shutouts during opening week of the season. With seven stops on the weekend and wins over the visiting Sewanee Tigers and Southern Virginia in the Meredith Soccer Classic, Loch was named to the All-Tournament team.
  • Pair of Goals Enough for Win Over Knights

    Meredith College capped off the program's annual Soccer Classic with a 2-0 win over Southern Virginia and a 2-0 record to open the season. Cassie Padilla finished off a pass from Jessica Wallace to give the Angels a 1-0 first half advantage, and rookie Kathryn Nelson punched in a pass from classmate Katie Quinn in the 71st minute to secure the win.
  • King Floats in Goal for 1-0 Win Over Tigers

    The soccer Avenging Angels opened the 2017 season Friday afternoon in a defensive battle with the visiting University of the South in the Meredith College Classic. Sweeper Kirstie King scored the only goal on the day with a long floater from more than 20 yards out on the left side of the field to give the Angels a 1-0 victory over the Tigers.
  • New Slate of SAAC Officers Readies for the Year

    The Meredith College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) introduced a new slate of officers Wednesday. Senior lacrosse forward Carlee Joseph will lead the group as organization president. Senior volleyball setter Hannah Blaylock will serve as vice-president, and her teammate Haley Reeg, a junior middle blocker, will serve as secretary of the group.
  • New Leadership for Meredith SAAC

    The Meredith College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be sponsored by two new athletics staff members beginning fall 2017 in Head Softball Coach Kim Scavone and Assistant Cross Country/Track & Field Coach Gene Meade. The two look forward to offering fresh perspective to the Avenging Angels in an effort to re-energize the NCAA-driven organization.
  • Soccer Selected as Top Pick in Preseason Poll

    The Meredith College women's soccer team received four first-place votes in the USA South East Division Coaches Preseason Poll to claim a share of the top pick with new division member Salem College. Salem, a member of the West last year, received three first-place votes, and the Methodist Monarchs garnered one.
