RALEIGH, N.C. -- Meredith College standouts Carlee Joseph and Cameron Ruffin were named to the 2018 Senior All-Star roster for the Division III's South team as announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). Two of 44 Division III players selected, Joseph and Ruffin will compete in the games to be held on Tierney Field at US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland, Saturday, June 2.
Follow the live stream of the games beginning with Division I at 11:30 a.m., followed by Division II at 1 p.m. The Avenging Angels pair will cap off the event in the Division III match at 2:30 p.m.
Joseph and Ruffin each completed their four years of collegiate eligibility May 13 advancing to the program's first-ever NCAA tournament second round appearance. The Angels defeated the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Mariners 20-9 in the opening round to face off Sunday with the host Salisbury Sea Gulls, ranked second nationally at the time.
Meredith captured their fifth USA South Conference Tournament Championship to advance, and Joseph and Ruffin played significant team roles throughout the season. Joseph completed her career as the conference leader with 288 goals and 378 points and departs as Meredith's most decorated attacker. Ruffin led a defense that ended the season with a 6.63 goals against average and ranks first all-time at Meredith with 115 career caused turnovers. The Avenging Angels finished the season ranked in the top-three nationally in scoring offense, scoring margin, draw controls per game, and points per game, and fourth in shots on goal.
