RALEIGH, N.C. -- In Monday's USA South Conference announcement senior defender Cameron Ruffin collected her fourth women's lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year selection this spring. She set a new all-time Meredith College record Saturday with 98 career caused turnovers.
Ruffin led an Avenging Angels defense that held its two opponents to just four goals on the week, including a 24-0 shutout over Salem. She forced eight turnovers, battled for three draw controls, and collected six ground balls over the two contests.
Meredith lacrosse heads to LaGrange, Georgia, Friday for the USA South Conference Tournament semifinals. Top-seeded MC Lax will face the winner of the four-five match Tuesday between Greensboro and Ferrum.
