Meredith Lacrosse Sweeps Weekly League Honors

USA South weekly honors to Holly Hite, Sarah Arbes, Lilia Cruz

RALEIGH, N.C. -- As announced Monday afternoon from the conference office, Meredith College swept the weekly selections for USA South women's lacrosse. Holly Hite, Sarah Arbes, and Lilia Cruz earned recognition for the Avenging Angels.

Hite scored six goals with three assists, 19 draw controls, six caused turnovers, and four ground balls as the Angels posted a 2-0 record versus USA South competition last week. Meredith outscored their two conference opponents 43-8 to remain undefeated in the league. The Avenging Angels cruised past Methodist 21-5 and handled the Piedmont Lions 22-3 in a pair of home contests.

Arbes helped the Avenging Angels' defense allow just eight goals on the week while contributing one goal, seven ground balls, seven draw controls, and three caused turnovers.

Freshman attacker Cruz scored eight goals with seven assists and five ground balls on the week. Starting in each of Meredith's 10 matches this spring, Cruz began to find her groove midway through the season nearly doubling her total point contribution in the last five games.

Meredith travels to the Greensboro College Tuesday to face off with the Pride before returning to their home turf Saturday for a match-up with the USA South's Brevard. Follow the live action HERE.
