    Meredith College standout Kimberly Schuh collected the program's first-ever USA South Women's Basketball Rookie of the Year award as announced Thursday from the league office. Schuh earned All-East Division honors as well, and sophomore Janah Hassell was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.

    The Meredith College basketball team will enter this year's USA South Women's Basketball Tournament as the East Division six-seed. The Avenging Angels travel to Danville, Virginia, Wednesday, Feb. 14, to face off with the third-seed Averett Cougars in the opening round.

    The visiting Salem Spirits came from behind to steal a 70-69 win from Meredith College on Senior Day. Four-year seniors Chandler Hines and Meghan Pleasants were honored just prior to tipoff.

    Meredith College rookie Kimberly Schuh matched her career high 35 points and paired it with a career-best 15 rebounds to lead the Avenging Angels to a 66-64 victory over USA South rival William Peace in a thrilling match-up at home Wednesday evening. Meredith led by as many as eight points midway through the fourth quarter and held off an aggressive Pacer attack down the stretch for the win.

    Meredith College rookie Kimberly Schuh recorded an impressive career-best 35 points in an 82-70 loss at Pfeiffer University Saturday afternoon. The total bested her previous high by 10 points, scored in the pairing's first meeting back in early December.

    The Meredith College Avenging Angels basketball team put on a shooting clinic during the first 20 minutes of Wednesday night's action versus the visiting Ferrum Panthers. Ferrum closed out the 71-57 victory, but Kimberly Schuh and Chandler Hines kept the Panthers close through the early minutes of the final frame.

    Trailing by as many as 16 points in the third period, Meredith College basketball fought back to finish off the USA South rival Methodist Monarchs 52-49 Saturday afternoon. Kimberly Schuh led the game with her second career double-double on 22 points, 11 rebounds.

    Kimberly Schuh and Chandler Hines led the Meredith College basketball Angels to a 79-67 victory over rival William Peace. The win places Meredith in sixth place one half game ahead of the Pacers with three weeks remaining in the regular season and a tournament invite on the line.

The Angels open a three-game road series Wednesday versus cross-town rival William Peace and remain in the hunt for a top-six finish and an invite to the USA South Tournament.

    The Meredith College basketball Angels put together their best 40 minute performance of the season behind a career high 27 points from Chandler Hines to capture a 76-64 win over the visiting Methodist Monarchs. Hines had 18 at the half and led the Avenging Angels to 91.7 percent shooting in the third quarter to pull away from MU by 15 for their largest lead of the game.

    The visiting N.C. Wesleyan Bishops shut down the Meredith College basketball team in the fourth quarter to capture a 72-59 victory in Weatherspoon Gymnasium Saturday. During halftime of the USA South contest, the athletics department celebrated the success of eight championship teams between fall 2015 and fall 2017.
  • Hines' Season-High 20 Points Keeps Meredith Close in 66-53 Loss to Panthers

    Meredith College shooter Chandler Hines posted a season-high 20 points on six-of-nine from three-point range in Wednesday night's 66-53 loss to the USA South's Ferrum Panthers. Ferrum leads the East Division as the only undefeated team remaining in the conference.

    Kirstie King scored 25 points with 10 rebounds in her first double-double performance of the season to lead Meredith College to a 76-68 win over Mary Baldwin. The victory marked the first for the Avenging Angels this season.

    The Meredith College basketball team opened the New Year with an 86-65 loss to the Averett Cougars in Saturday's USA South action. Kirstie King returned to the lineup today after a two-game injury release to lead the Avenging Angels with 16 points and seven rebounds.

    Meredith College basketball rookie Kimberly Schuh posted her first career double-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds to lead the Angels in a close 71-64 loss to the Roanoke Maroons Sunday. The New Year's Eve contest was part of Roanoke's Susan Dunagan Holiday Classic.

Chandler Hines drained three baskets beyond the arc to lead the Angels with 11 total points on the day.

    Meredith College basketball scored the last 11 points in Sunday's home game to hold the visiting Pfeiffer Falcons to a 92-69 finish. Kimberly Schuh posted a career- and game-high 25 points, hitting 9-12 from the free throw line.

    In Saturday's USA South Conference game versus the visiting Greensboro Pride, Meredith College outscored GC 35-30 in the second half to close the gap for a 73-58 loss. The Avenging Angels scored 19 from the free throw line, 10 more than the Pride, to aid in the effort.
  • Quakers Rout Meredith Basketball 63-28 in Home Opener

    The visiting Guilford Quakers handled Meredith College basketball with ease Monday night for a 63-28 victory in the Avenging Angels' home opener. The Angels shot just 16.7 percent from the floor to hand over their fifth loss early this season.
